Recently I was appointed the responsibility of restructuring the ophthalmology service. When I received the service there were patient many patients that had been waiting to be scheduled for months even years. I changed the surgical request. This has made scheduling procedure more efficient. Prior to this change procedures would be scheduled out a week. Now they are scheduled out at least 30 days in advance. This has decreased funds and the number of patients out sourced to the community. It has made the scheduling process more user friendly.
