My teaching philosophy is rooted in the conviction that education is both an intellectual and character formation process, where knowledge and purpose are developed in alignment with ethical principles. As a scholar-practitioner in Organizational Leadership, I view the classroom as a dynamic learning community where teaching and learning are intentionally integrated to prepare students for lives of service and leadership for ethical impact.
In my teaching, I seek to create an environment where students are encouraged to think critically, engage diverse perspectives, and apply biblical principles to real-world challenges. By integrating Scripture with leadership theory and organizational practice, I guide students to understand leadership not only as a set of skills, but as a calling grounded in stewardship, integrity, and accountability.
My approach to teaching is student-centered and application-oriented. Drawing from over 25 years of executive leadership and nonprofit governance experience, I connect theoretical concepts to practical realities. I emphasize data-informed decision-making, ethical leadership, and sustainable organizational practices, equipping students to lead effectively in complex and diverse environments. Through case studies, reflective discussions, and experiential learning, students are challenged to bridge the gap between knowledge and practice.
I am also deeply committed to fostering a learning environment characterized by respect, inclusion, and encouragement. I recognize that students come from varied backgrounds and stages in their faith journeys. As such, I strive to model servant-centered leadership through humility, grace, and accountability, creating a space where students feel valued and empowered to grow academically.
In alignment with institutional values and objectives, my goal is to develop leaders who are not only competent but also called—individuals who lead with wisdom, serve with compassion, and act with integrity.
Ultimately, my role as an educator is to inspire transformation—of mind, character, and purpose—so that students are equipped to lead lives that reflect excellence.
