Course study was taught over a six month period once a week, using approved outline from the Boys & Girls Club of America. Course offered written material, group participation, video's along with field trips.
2007-2012 - California Peace Officer Field Training Officer, as an instructor I developed a training plan that uses varied adult learning styles and communication techniques along with using Standardized Evaluation Guidelines developed by Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). A teaching plan was created in order to reinforce police academy subject matter. Visual, auditory, kinesthetic adult learning styles along with communication techniques such as Two-way communication and active listening helped drive the learning process The field trainee was tested in the application learned material via documentation of written reports, interaction with the public along with the ability to problem solve daily patrol issues.
2012-2021 - Patrol Sergeant, as an instructor I was assigned bi-weekly roll-call training on topics interest in the field of Community Relations, Criminal law updates and Report writing. The curriculum consisted of legal handout, table-top exercises, POST learning pictorial library/videos material. A verbal test and group discussion of learned materiel was completed in a group setting. In some training session a written test of learned materiel was created and kept by officers for future field use. Teaching sessions in the field of Community Relations, Patrol Procedures and Leadership.
2023 - On-call Instructor, San Bernardino Valley College. Teaching of California Police officers standards and training curriculum for Terrorism Awareness and Collection of Evidence. Inter-action with Police Cadet's to create an environment of learning through positive reinforcement and group projects.
