• Salvation Army, Burbank, California, 08/2018, 01/2020, The Salvation Army is an organization that aids senior citizens and low-income families. Services such as tutoring and after-school activities were provided. Items like canned goods, hygiene kits, and clothing are given to those in need. I was the senior-tutor at the after school program, and the senior-advisor for the shelf-room. I managed volunteers to organize the products categorically, throwing out expired products.
• Armenian American Orphans Christmas Fund, Glendale, California, 01/2015, Present, AAOCF hosted an annual telethon by the Armenian diaspora to help out the orphanages in Armenia. We focused on providing the children with presents for Christmas, and collected money for building renovations for the orphanages (for sanitation/safety). During the telethons, I was a fundraising assistant and a social media manager. I also was a translator for the contributors that had a language-barrier with our Armenian-speaking volunteers. Since 2010, we have collected thousands of dollars and have funded the renovations of many buildings.
• Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California, 08/2018, Present, Children's Hospital is a non-profit organization that has provided matchless pediatric care for decades. During the holidays, the hospital allows individuals to donate money and/or donate toys to the patients, igniting a sense of warmth and generosity during the festive season. I gather items and host a small garage sale. The profits and proceeds are used to purchase new and safe toys for patients. Making contributions to society, to the best of my ability, makes me feel elated and benevolent.
