Elijah Reed

A highly driven young Christian who feels the call to full time ministry. One who experiences a longing for real, hands-on experience, partnered with an in depth education in theology and the Kingdom of God. Hopefully expectant that the Lord will use and develop my leadership and speaking abilities to bring others closer to him.

+ Volunteered as a student leader in my church's youth ministry. This involved weekly responsibilities such as:
- Taking time away from Sunday nights to spiritually fulfill myself and spend time with the Lord

- Preparing the space for the students
- Working to create a welcoming and loving space that anyone could be a part of
- Helping lead discussions and connect groups
- Placing devotions at a high priority, so that my commitment as a leader would not be reliant on my abilities

+Created/Lead a weekly morning Bible Study at my high school. This included:
- Creating a group of peers that would help me lead
- Curating a syllabus type format that would lay out the series we would focus on weekly
- Communication with school authorities to make sure all parties were following school policies and our weekly meetings were scheduled correctly
- Leading guided discussions on certain portions of Scripture
- Helping peers in the group walk through life, giving them people and resources to counteract the difficulties they are facing
- Divvying responsibilities and encouraging others to take the opportunity to a guide a discussion if they desire or feel called

+ Played bass and electric/acoustic guitar for youth group and Sunday morning services. This included:
- Spending time each week practicing and making sure the content of the songs and service is known thoroughly
- Familiarizing myself with software used: Monitor Mix, PCO, etc.
- Being a part of a band/team, creating relationships within that context

I love reading, hiking, playing music, and everything outdoors. I also am an avid golfer, and often play ice hockey.
