Growing up in Florida, I have been immersed year-round in marine endeavors all of my life. I began with competitive sailing in my youth, racing worldwide for 8+ years. I went on to attend boarding school at St. George’s School in Newport, RI, competing on their sailing team as a four-year varsity A team starter in 420s and FJs. Outside of high school, I competed extensively in the Laser and Club 420 circuits as a team member of multiple yacht club programs with numerous top 5 national finishes. I next attended the College of Charleston and was a member of one of the top collegiate sailing teams in the country. At C of C, I started on the coed, women’s, and match race teams with multiple regatta wins and national titles. I currently balance my passion for sailing with my job at Captains Choice, a yacht management team located in Charleston, SC. My responsibilities include providing maintenance services for transient vessels and managing 50 boats for our local clients. Since college, I have continued my immersion in the marine world through professional racing, coaching, teaching, yacht broking/managing/crewing/delivering, and marine-related sales and marketing. With my background in the marine industry, I honed my skills in management and sales. I led a youth sailing team based in Miami, FL, with 16 members and took care of all the business aspects and travel arrangements. We competed against teams from various countries across the world. I shifted to work as part of a boat management team, LG Yacht Management, where we oversaw 35 boats in the Miami area. Our responsibilities included providing yacht management, maintenance, crew and captains, as well as delivering boats. My focus shifted toward sales, leading me to work with Engel and Volkers yachting division as a yacht advisor. Though we were based in South Florida, we participated in multiple boat shows across the US. Later, I joined Chesapeake Bay Magazine as an executive sales director, where I utilized my sales skills. I am currently employed as a yacht broker at David Walters Yachts. Our team travels to various boat shows to promote our yacht brands, for which we are the North American dealers. In addition, I assist the brokerage team by assisting sellers in listing their boats and helping buyers find the right vessel.
