While at St. Francis Eastside, I was given the opportunity to shadow several phlebotomists and lab assistants, as well as be able to practice my skills. I was able to participate in a hospital and outpatient clinic environment while cultivating my skills as a learning phlebotomist. I exceeded the required venipunctures necessary to complete my clinical trial within a period of two weeks.

I shadowed Dr. Daniel Lee and experienced what an orthopedic surgeon's day to day life looks like in an office setting. During my time, we examined patient x-rays which included cases of reverse shoulder replacements and knee replacements. Spending this time with Dr. Lee and his staff helped to open my passion for the medical field.
