I’m a junior at Staples High School and moved to the U.S. from Haiti in 2010 after the earthquake. Basketball is a big part of my life; I play for both Staples and my AAU team, PhD. I’m looking for a job to help my parents, who work really hard to support our family. I want to save up for a car so I can drive my little sister around and ease some of their responsibilities. I’m 17 years old, eager to work, and ready to bring a positive attitude to the job!

I love playing basketball. It’s more than just a sport to me; it’s a way of life. I’ve been playing since I was little, and I can’t imagine my life without it.
Basketball has helped me meet so many amazing people. My teammates have become my best friends, and I’ve also met people from other teams who I still keep in touch with. Basketball has also opened up a lot of doors for me. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to different states and countries to play in tournaments. I’ve also been able to learn a lot about myself through basketball. It’s taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and teamwork.
Basketball is also a safe haven for me. When I’m on the court, I can forget about all my worries and just focus on the game. It’s a great way to relieve stress and have fun.
I’m so grateful for basketball. It’s changed my life in so many ways.
