Accomplishments

  • Led the initiative to retain and recruit DoD police officers which has saw a 30% decline in the past two years. Thoroughly researched the problem, looked for solutions, and had them approved by the agency. Efforts led to significant manning improvements and kept the people safe in accomplishing their mission.
  • Developed, secured funding, and initiated a contract for enhanced 911 system to meet the Fort Hood after action report. Improved police operations with the acquisition of a computer aided system (CAD) and police records management system (RMS). These capabilities significantly enhanced police operations by automating the police.
  • Contracted, secured funding, and executed the acquisition of two major weapons upgrades to the police departments. Obtained M4 rifles and M17 pistols. Police were properly trained and equipped to better handle police related situations.
  • With the onset of the pandemic, I solved many complex issues surrounding the police and reducing their opportunity to exposure, thusly allowing them to meet mission needs and keep down-time due to exposure at an absolute minimum.
  • Tackling the significant raise of pay disparity with police and the DoD and low retention rate. Created a working group with all internal and external stakeholders to analyze the gaps and provide recommendations to close the gaps. DoD took our situation and is evaluating the issue at their level. Several recommendations have been accepted and are being evaluated by the agency.
