I have had some pretty amazing experiences with many types of animals, thanks to my family! My brother in law has done DNR for as long as I can remember, as well as assisting in the rescue & rehab of certain animals. We have rehabilitated several hawks, a few owls( both are just beautiful birds), also many Opossum, skunk, and racoon families. My family has had the privilege to be involved in the breeding of quite a few different animals like cockatiel birds, rabbits, chickens and ducks, and of course dogs( German Shepherds, Beagles, Boxers, Golden Retrievers). In addition to all of this we have raised a few exotic birds, my sister has two African Gray parrots. Paco, the 1st one was bought as an egg and we hand raised him. He is now 28 years old and I couldn't be more pleased that I am his favorite person! The newer one, Rosco was a rescue and is now thriving as well. These guys are so intelligent it's crazy! The next love of my life will be a Moluccan Cockatoo, a very beautiful and charismatic bird who can grow old with me. I currently have 3 adult dogs, and 6 puppies left to find 4-ever homes for. As you can see, I have hands on experience with several animals, but my heart tends to lean toward dogs and birds! Nothing would make me happier than to make a career out of helping animals. I truly want to become a Vet tech, and I am ready and willing to take any classes needed!
