  • I have served over 140 hours.
  • I cleaned enclosures, food dishes, enrichment toys, and even some animals themselves.
  • I worked around chemicals and learned how to use them near the animals.
  • I got to watch a couple of vet procedures, and how to properly handle them.
  • I got to watch and participate in crate training with Poppy, the North American porcupine.
  • I got to practice with the penguin feedings with several keepers.
  • I got to practice being in the enclosures with certain animals, like the penguins, flamingos, or Asian aviary.
  • I set up the diets for penguins, flamingos, budgies, eagles, and the Asian aviary.
  • I provided guests with a comfortable experience if they needed help or asked a question.
  • I follow and understand the John Ball Zoo/AZA missions.
