I bring over 3 decades of police experience, the last 18 years as a supervisor in a diverse, constantly changing city environment and am uniquely qualified, currently certified, and prepared to assume any duties within any law enforcement situation with little to no training necessary other than your specific department policies and procedures
Currently, in my 18th year of police supervision in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I am well-versed and experienced in all facets of police work and supervision, without exception.
Hired in 1993, I am completing my 32nd year of city police work, having worked on, been on scene for, and supervised everything from a lost dog to a multiple homicide situation. I have supervised SWAT situations, active investigative scenes, traffic crashes, and every type of felony and misdemeanor criminal situation that presents itself during the course of a shift.
Additionally, a large portion of today's supervision is administrative, where supervisors are tasked with reviewing every police report prepared on their shift and making corrections and recommendations to the officers. We review for grammar, spelling, content, and applicability, and ensure the report is complete for submission or prosecution, should that report be an arrest.
Supervisors are also heavily tasked with reviewing Axon body-worn camera evidence, with emphasis on compliance in use-of-force situations. Of specific importance is that the officers using force are operating within the use of force policy, the standards of conduct in policy regarding professionalism and conduct toward the public, as well as the laws at the federal, state, and local levels.
Pittsburgh emphasizes community engagement and involvement, and I routinely conducted and directed community meetings at the direction of my station commanders.
As a patrol officer from 1993 to 2007, I was very proactive, making hundreds of arrests for everything, with a large portion being for DUI, domestic violence, and numerous street crimes involving illegal narcotics, firearms, and public disorder, to name a few.
Finally, for most of my career, I have volunteered for countless special events in the city, with the most notable being the parade commander for the two Stanley Cup parades for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017. I have supervised portions of 15 marathons, worked on hundreds of sporting events and concerts, and managed countless traffic assignments, ensuring safety and optimal traffic flow.
North Braddock is where I started my career on a part-time basis. Although working in a part-time capacity, I routinely worked over 50 hours per week.
