Eva Mahoney

I am a current sophomore at Rutgers University School of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Cell Biology and Neuroscience. I plan on this being a pre-med major. I've specifically had an interest in Cardiology, which I love learning about. I am very motivated and passionate about my studies and learning more about the healthcare field. Some qualities I possess include organization, work-ethic, working well as a team, communication, great with technology, excellent writing skills, and more. I am looking for internships, volunteer opportunities, and jobs in which I can gain experience in the medical field while giving back to the community and making a difference. If I can make one persons day, I am fulfilled!

• Academic Associate Program at Cooper Hospital (Fall, 2023) - Acting as a research assistant in the Emergency Department, this clinical research program allowed me and a few other students to get involved in 3 research trials in the Cooper University Hospital ED. For the 10 weeks in the program, I scanned through patient medical records to find eligible patients for each trial, and interviewed those who were eligible.

• Tabby's Place Cat Shelter (2023) - Caring for cats pre-adoption, as well as bringing cats to nursing homes monthly to meet seniors and put a smile on their face.

• The Peyton Heart Project (2023) - Crochet hearts with positive messages and bring them to stores around Hunterdon County to spread positivity and awareness surrounding bullying and mental health.

• Raritan Headwaters (2019) - Planting trees in Raritan, NJ in various areas to protect the environment.
