Clearly explain reasoning, rights, and next steps, including appeal options when claims are denied or modified. Answer questions from claimants, employers, medical offices, and the public. How to file or continue a disability claim. Required documentation and deadlines. How benefit amounts are calculated and how long they can last.
  • (5) Process claims according to law and policy. Apply laws, regulations, rules, and EDD policies consistently when reviewing and deciding claims. Enter, update, and maintain claim information in EDD computer systems. Identify and refer complex or suspicious cases. Flag potential fraud, misrepresentation, or worker misclassification issues and refer them for further investigation when needed.
  • (6) Maintain confidentiality and follow legal standards. Protect claimants' personal, medical, and wage information in line with privacy laws and EDD policy. Meet performance standards.
