Summary

Driven and dedicated Pharmacy retail, hospital, and IV Technician with 33 years of experience and success in working within fast-paced both retail and inpatient pharmacy settings. Highly proficient in accurately filling and labeling prescriptions, maintaining drug inventories and updating pharmacy records. Excited to bring talent and record of excellence in customer service to growing pharmacy.

In addition to the facts mentioned above. I'm punctual always on board if needed and I truly believe in team work. I've learned MOST of my experience performing IV's at University of Maryland. As you may know, they have several satellites. This is where I worked 7 on 7 off night shift and I loved it! Each rotation, we were assigned to a different satelite which was perfect, One week I may be Shock Trauma for straight 7 then when I come back im Pediatrics straight 7, Central straight 7, IV lab straight, OR straight 7. I have so much to bring to Pharmscript, and so much to show and help others. As stated before, Im taking a current IV class and always trying to keep up since my surgery, I'm 100% better and ready to get started if given the chance. Thanks to my referral, Gloria Martinez! I got her and 8 others started in pharmacy!

Hope to hear from you or someone within your company,

Accomplishments

  • Supervised team of 4 staff members back in retail.
  • Documented and report the day before on how many chemo and infusion patients that are expected to arrive for treatment so that we would have proper amount of medication to avoid the patient being rescheduled and not to premix in the morning just in case the patient doesn't arrive which would lead to product waste (costly).
  • Also,I'm not sure the volume of certain IV meds, but I like to be prepared and not wait to get into solutio, For example, I wouldn't mix my IVIG at 0800 that's due at 2100. Now I do know that Dapto is good for 12hours after mixture, but to get into solution that's a different situation. So a co-worker and I came up with a list of IV meds that should be reconstituted at a certain time. Also with items such as IVIG, Dapto, we call the floor to make sure that they are definitely on it instead of mixing for no reason (Cost Effective), depending on how long the item has been mixed it may be used for another patient, That's the pharmacist in charge call. This recommendation/ rule has been a staple at University because of my co-worker and myself.
  • Collaborated with team of four in the development of random fingerprint testing and garb checking prior to entering the clean room.
  • Supervised team of three staff members back when I was lead tech at retail NeighborCare Pharmacy ,
