• Continue to attend applicable City of Newport Beach Lifeguard trainings and orientation.
• Assist in providing open water safety to participants in Newport Beach Lifeguard Programs.
• Observe patrons on the beach and in the water to ensure safety and prevent accidents.
• Assist in providing first aid, CPR, and/or ocean rescue skills as needed.
• Assist in enforcing rules and regulations, municipal codes and ordinances including California Penal Code, California Harbors & Navigation Code, and California Fish & Game Code.
• Learn to monitor beach and water population levels.
• Identify lost individuals and coordinate reunification, representing the City of Newport Beach professionally in a highly visible position.

• Provide high level customer service, education and information to residents and beach visitors.
