As someone owning their own business for 29 years, I am bred to treat everything like its mine. That's what you will get when you decide to allow me to join your company. I know the long hours it takes to build a business and to make a company successful. I have recently partnered with my brother, who has taken over operations of the Subway restaurants. This allowed me to pursue other ventures after being in the same industry for the last 29 years. I pride my success to respecting all those who came to work each day. Keeping my staff happy and working along side of them is what contributed to having one of the highest staff retention rates in the country. That, intern lead to building multi million dollar stores with which we found ourselves having the first store with a double driv-thru in the country. Leadership and work ethic are two qualities that float to the top when describing my qualities, However, operational excellence and problem solving are two areas that should be applied to any company, and those two themselves have helped us build the business over the years.
Over the years I have sat on a number of volunteer boards. The Business Advisory Committee of New Glasgow was one of those, which I was on for approx 6 years. Took on the role of President of the Westside Community Center, in which I soley fundraised to renovate the 2nd oldest outdoor rink in Canada, increasing its usage by 1000%. Getting my Level 1 Fire Fighter allowed me to have great experiences with NGFD for 7 years. I completed two half and one full Ironman event, which rewards those who like to put their head down and work.
In summery, I believe with the experience I have dealing with many employees, long hours and at the same time having to focus on operations efficiencies / deficiencies, gives me the foundation to be an asset to your company. Team play played a big part of the success of the restaurants, making sure everyone is getting the training and also keeping them motivated to help support the company with operation excellence.
