Accomplishments

Mrs. Miles has thirty –eight years of Government Service that encompasses being an Elementary Teacher for Department of Defense Dependent Schools, a Contract Specialist and Procurement Analyst for DoD and Small Business Specialist for Health and Human Services at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA. As an advocate for Small Businesses, she was selected as the Georgia’s Distinguished Supplier Diversity Professional of the year (2010) by the Georgia Minority Business Enterprise Center (GMBEC) and selected as the Small Business Advocate of the Year (2011) by the MBDA Business Center, Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute. She was also selected as Small Business Specialist of the year (2015) by the National Association of Women Owned Small Businesses (NAWOSB), selected to Who’s Who in Black Atlanta, 2016;selected as a Trailblazer in the Trailblazer Magazine- Black History Month Edition, 2022 -Stories that shape our Future: Black History Edition along with other awards and honors. Inducted I to Marquis Who’s Who in America, Feb 17, 2023 She has a master’s degree in Education. She is married to husband Willie for 48 years.

I basically read for pleasure, fiction, non-fiction, love westerns and detective books.


In my church I am the president of  the Deaconess board I perform acts of charity and hospitality and assistance for those in the Church, particularly women, and assisting in the work of visitation and ministry to the sick and needy and others on a case by case basis.

 

I also assist the Stewardesses with Holy Communion and Holy Baptism, as needed. Our Communion Bread is homemade by Deaconesses.


As a  Stewardess Board member, I was nominated by the Pastor and name was  submitted to the church Board of Stewards for approval.  Stewardess must be of good character and good standing within the church.  The Stewardesses prepare the elements for Holy Communion and Holy Baptism.
