• Handle all aspects of automobile and general liability claims for commercial clients with large SIR/deductible in multiple jurisdictions. Span various industries to include, construction defect, medical supply companies, premises liability, manufacturing defect exposures and commercial automobile claims.

• Requires identification of policy coverage issues leading to the initial draft of reservation of rights letters.

• Contract analysis including indemnity and additional insured stipulations resulting in tenders.

• Present cases to Vice Presidents of Risk Management, Chief Financial Officers, and Senior General Counsel on a quarterly basis

• Investigates, evaluates, disposes and settles the most complex claims, and highest exposures.

• Responsibilities include the handling and investigation of commercial auto claims involving serious injury, fatalities, and litigation
• Writing indemnity reports to be submitted to the client
• Reviewing police reports, autopsy reports, biomechanical analysis reports as well as telematics to determine liability and the mechanism of injuries in auto crashes
• Assess liability to apportion damages based on percentage of negligence for negotiating settlements with claimants, attorneys, and insurance companies through outside counsel
• Represent the Company at mediations, settlement conferences, trials, and other legal proceedings on a national level
• Work closely with outside counsel in the development of litigation strategy for resolution or trial
• Manage litigation based on claims made under the Company’s auto liability insurance coverage
• Manage the Company’s exposure to risk by ensuring claims against it are thoroughly examined to minimize financial loss and diminished reputation
• Provide professional assistance and direction to adjusters, attorneys, law enforcement, etc
• Who are involved in the investigation of incidents where potential liability and claims exist against the Company.

• Monitoring calls and performing file audits for all levels of the Claims Department
• Performing call calibrations, and training sessions with claims management in both the Virginia and Texas Office
• Claims QA Risk Champion, which entails working with Compliance to identify and report risk events that could negatively affect the business
• Communicate results to claims managers and directors, while providing insight on ways to improve results.

• Handling of claims with catastrophic injuries, or fatalities
• Review and evaluate medical records, bills, and photographs of injuries to determine the fair value of the claim
• Negotiate bodily injury claims with claimants and attorneys to bring about a settlement of the case
• Maintaining a caseload of 170 claims
• Responsible for hearing 5 inter-company arbitrations a month in addition to regular duties.

• Investigating, evaluation and negotiation of attorney represented claim involving bodily injuries
• Review and evaluate medical records, bills, and photographs of injuries to determine the fair value of the claim
• Negotiate bodily injury claims with claimants and attorneys to bring about a settlement of the case
• Maintaining a caseload of 200 claims
• Responsible for hearing 2 inter-company arbitrations a month in addition to regular duties.

• Take recorded statements, review police reports and medical records to evaluate complex liability and coverage issues
• Handling of first party medical claims up to $100,000.00 under the Personal Injury Protection coverage under the personal auto policy
• Maintain a case load of around two hundred claims
