  • Work within small team to operate and maintain shop for metal fabrication, wood working, and foundry equipment.
  • Carry out production requirements which include variety of skills and procedures (for example; mold making,casting , fabricating, and finishing.
  • Work with visiting artists, to facilitate needs, both in problem solving and in creation or castings process for their projects/plans.
  • Teach/operate workshops and demos as well as summer youth program which includes training and educating young students on various metal working techniques (casting,welding,blacksmithing etc)

Mardi Gras Float Construction/Design

  • Carried out plans and themes, created by float designer for over 15 floats, which included painting large scale murals and portraits, building large paper mache props, altering and repairing existing floats.
  • Created and maintained schedule for weekly tasks to ensure completion for Mardi Gras Day.

  • Managed and instructed crew of 15-30 members to effectively maintain foundry equipment, studio, museum grounds and provide proper assistance to artists in order to pour roughly 30,000lbs. of cast iron throughout each July Workshop.
  • Worked closely with artists and intern-artists to plan,troubleshoot and execute completion of cast iron sculptures. This included; pattern making, mold making, casting,finishing and final installation.
