I have experience as a Patient Care Technician in the progressive care ICU by working under supervision with the RN for bladder scan, drawing labs, cleaning Foley's and peri care to prevent infections. I also monitor patient's vital signs as needed by checking their temperature, blood sugar, and blood pressure. Also, I have learned how to place restraints on patients when it's required to protect themselves from any injuries. I also have experience as a Skilled Production Team Lead with 3 years in high-volume manufacturing. I am a current PN student at SCC and will graduate on July 19, 2024. I have completed over 40 hours of clinical rotation and participated in providing patient care at the hospital, clinics, and long-term care facilities. I know how to administer medication to clients, provide NG tube, ostomy care, foley care, don and doff PPE appropriately, and administer a TB skin test. I also have the skill of providing a heel stick to a newborn baby. My main goal is to provide adequate care to all clients who need medical attention.
I help patient's in the rehab who has recently recovered from surgery or had a stroke by insisting them with all of their physical activities by simply helping patients to brush their teeth, take showers, feed themselves, and also to walk on their own again. I also collected lab draws, specimens, and vital signs as needed. It was my pleasure and main priority to make sure the patient was safe and and comfortable at all times.
