Awards - I had received numerous award over my 30 year career with the DOJ;  however, these highlights are most memorable.

  • Implemented the cadre program and established the apprenticeship program with the state of Michigan, at the Federal Correctional Institution, Milan, MI, Sustain Superior Performance Award.
  • First African American female Unit Manager at the Federal Correctional Institution, Memphis, Tennessee for intercepting staff corruption with male inmates. Sustain Superior Performance Award.
  • Service Award received at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, in Chicago, Illinois for being one of the first female to work in the segregation housing unit in order to pave the way for female officers to serve in an area that had been designated for male officers only. Additionally for remaining steadfast in my duties while a "contract" had been placed on my life via a group of White Supremacists.
  • First, African American Case Manager, at the Federal Correctional Facility, in Loretto, Pennsylvania to manage cases from the Watergate Scandal, Washington, DC. Sustained Superior Performance Award.
