As the Head Server, I waited on 5-30 tables per shift. My day-to-day responsibilities included: Greeting
guests in a prompt and courteous manner.
● Taking orders from patrons, often memorizing the orders if there were 5 patrons or less.
● Making suggestions on food and wine pairings, trying to upsell when appropriate.
● Inputting orders into our POS system per the chef's guidelines.
● Bringing prepared food to tables as soon as it was ready and quickly clearing tables once the food was
finished.
● As a team player in the server industry, we collaborate during downtime to excel in our roles, which includes tasks like shining glasses, rolling silverware, and supporting the dishwasher.
● Memorized restaurant's wine and alcohol stock and accompanying meals, leading to daily wine sales
of $100. Expanded knowledge of drink customizations, learning over 50 combinations, based on
inventory and customer requests.
● Wrote patrons' food orders on slips, memorized orders, and entered orders for transmittal to kitchen
staff in a POS Terminals 200+ seat restaurant.
● Cleaned all work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes ,and silverware, and ensured they are stored
appropriately.
● Performed food preparation duties, such as assembling salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning
salads, and brewing coffee, in a fast-paced line kitchen.
● Worked on machines such as welding and mounting the rebar into certain shapes and orders that were
given to us.
● Routinely lifted, held, and transported construction materials over 60+ pounds in poor weather
conditions, utilizing job training to maintain safety.
● Proactively cleaned work areas when not tasked with a specific duty, reducing downtime by 30% and
creating a safe environment for co-workers.
● Operated 10+ types of equipment and hand tools safely and accurately.
