Upon completing my bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology, I accepted a position as a Psychiatric Technician at a medical center. After a year in this role, I observed a troubling cycle in which patients repeatedly entered and exited the facility. Although considerable effort was devoted to treatment, I noted a significant lack of support directed toward preventing future episodes of psychosis. This experience motivated me to enhance my contributions to the clients with whom I interacted daily. Consequently, I made the decision to pursue a master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, which I completed in May 2025. My mission is to provide meaningful support to individuals within my community who are affected by various mental illnesses and disabilities, thereby enabling them to achieve a more fulfilling and independent life.
I am currently engaged as a volunteer at The Center for Pursuit, where I have been active since October 2024, to fulfill my supervision hours required for my Master of Education degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, with the objective of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. At this clinic, I am responsible for the development and implementation of treatment plans, facilitating training sessions for parents and staff, and working directly with clients under the guidance of my supervisor.
Upon completing my undergraduate studies, I accepted a position at the Harris County Psychiatric Center as a psychiatric technician. In this role, I provided direct care and support to individuals experiencing mental health issues and developmental disabilities, working under the supervision of licensed nurses and physicians. My responsibilities encompassed monitoring the physical and emotional well-being of patients, observing their behavior, assisting in the administration of medications, facilitating daily living activities such as dressing and eating, and leading therapeutic programs designed to promote recovery and engagement.
