  • Cashier Assistant: Adhered to Costco's strict policies and ensured that customers were rung up correctly and in a timely fashion, which made the cashier's job easier. This included providing a correct count of all items in the cart to scan, interacting and communicating with the customers to work out large or multiple separate transactions, taking the customers' unwanted items back in a timely fashion to avoid food spoilage or clutter, and packing the large orders in the cart in a way that satisfied the customer.
  • Carts: Communicated and worked closely with other Costco employees in order to make sure all the carts in the lot were taken to the front of the store and lined up in rows for the customers' convenience.
  • Go-backs: Taking a shopping cart of customers' unwanted items back to their location on the floor in a timely manner, in order to avoid clutter, and keep all of the shelves full.
  • Boxing Down: After the store closed, employees were assigned a certain portion of the store to go through and make sure that each product was fully pushed forward and looked neat. This included taking nearly empty boxes off the shelf, neatly lining up the products, taking any products that did not belong there back to where they belonged, and bringing the accumulated boxes to the back to compact them.
  • Customer Service: At Costco, customer service was a top priority; therefore, greeting customers with a smile and starting a conversation with them became second nature in order to provide them with a comfortable and enjoyable experience. This also included retrieving items on the floor that customers forgot to get, helping customers with multiple carts to the door, and asking customers if they would like boxes to pack their orders in their carts.
