As a part of the care team at The CORE Program, I collaborate with Suboxone MAT Providers, inpatient facilities, outpatient facilities, and other relevant programs to support patients presenting to the Emergency Department seeking assistance with OUD. In addition to "connecting" patients to various programs, I help provide peer support and advocate for patient needs throughout the recovery process.
I have also been apart of starting The PROUD Program. PROUD includes a team of physicians, pharmacists, and myself (Certified Recovery Specialist) who provide pregnant patients prenatal care and support as well as treatment for OUD with Suboxone. We are able to coordinate care with community hospital resources, social work, behavioral health, counseling, doulas, and inpatient rehabs to help support patient needs.
I work part-time for The COPE Program, Chester County's warm hand-off program. This role entails responding to Opiate overdose survivors when they arrive at the hospital. Additionally, I provide recovery support and connect patients and family to appropriate resources. I am able to work with patients for one year and assist in identifying personal goals, interests, strengths, and help develop treatment plan to guide them in their recovery.
Earning 100 internship hours with a Youth Enhanced CRS was a requirement to obtain a Youth Enhanced Certified Recovery Specialist Credential. Throughout the internship I was able to gain experience working as a CRS, learning recovery planning, different communication and support styles, as well as proper documentation and billing.
