- Initially working for Roger Woody trading as (Showcase Home Builders & Roger Woody Rentals) where I set up the entire computerized accounting system using Quickbooks where I both performed and/or oversaw all the data entry & all other aspects of accounting including the creation of separate divisions to appropriately account for the residential home construction activities verses the residential home leasing activities.
- Also performing & overseeing all data entry into separate receipt & disbursements journals, general ledger accounting including the interdivisional entries to account for moving completed homes from inventory in the construction division into leased homes in the leasing division.
- Then preparing both interim & year-end financial statements & income tax returns (initially for outside audit then as compiled for Roger to be able to submit to the institutions like banks & major suppliers that required such reporting).
- Then additionally in 1999 Roger built, then owned & operated the Microtel Inn & Suites, an 86-room franchise motel operation. Where he had me set-up and oversee all the accounting & income tax return preparation for two new Limited Liability Companies (RW, LLC & RWW Management, LLC).
- I had recommended that he incorporate all his business activities when I first came to work for him in March 1997.
- Then in 2009 he took the recommendation of a business consultant/attorney and created a Master LLC & 36 Sub-LLCs to separate & protect his many assets into separate LLCs such that the liabilities of anyone LLC could not impair the assets held in another LLC.
- I had to modify the computerized accounting systems to properly separate and account for those multiple LLCs so that separate financial statements & income tax returns could be prepared.
- Then also over 27 years that I worked for Roger he created multiple Homeowners Associations which I also had to set-up the computerized accounting systems to prepare both financial statements & income tax returns as well as participating in annual homeowners' meetings.
- I held a lot of corporate titles during those 27 years including: Accountant, Secretary-Treasurer of many LLCs, Secretary-Treasurer & Director of many Homeowners' Associations & one of three Trustees of the Showcase Home Builders Retirement Savings Plan.
