James Helms

I am a resourceful maintenance technician and farmworker as well as a dirt bike and bicycle mechanic. I worked as a maintenance technician for more than a year doing repairs and upkeep on almost all farm systems. My duties ranged from building saddle racks from scratch and installing them in a storage room to doing hydraulic fluid flushes and oil changes on tractors and dirt bikes. My boss taught me how to communicate well and collaborate with other peers on the farm to get projects done well and on time. I also worked for years running my own profitable bicycle repair and resale business. This involved researching potential clients, and learning how to communicate with them and my team members daily. This job also provided me with the ability to assess the value of skills and goods in a current and ever-changing marketplace.
