Personal Wi-Fi Network Security Audit
Achievement : Performed a Comprehensive IT Audit of Home Wi-Fi Network
Description: Conducted a detailed audit of my personal Wi-Fi network to ensure security, privacy, and compliance with best practices. Used various online resources and IT audit methodologies to develop a checklist for assessing network vulnerabilities.
Tools Used: Employed network diagnostic tools (such as Wireshark and Fing) to monitor traffic, identify devices connected to the network, and detect any unauthorized access or unusual activity.
Outcome: Discovered that the router was using outdated encryption (WPA) and had default login credentials. Upgraded to WPA3 encryption, changed default router settings, implemented MAC address filtering, and enabled automatic firmware updates. Additionally, set up a guest network to segregate personal devices from visitors’ connections.
