E-Commerce Clerk
Working as a online-pick up associate, I had to pick groceries at 30 seconds-per-item or less. From there I would place items in their designated totes, which would then be organized in a designated location by customer ID. Afternoons consisted of identifying the proper grocery order when the customer arrived to pick it up. The order gathering process would be completed in less than two minutes, and would be out to the customer in four. When approaching a vehicle, I would greet the customer by their first and last name, tell them their item substitutions, ask for coupons, and then give them their order total. With their permission, I would load their groceries and end our interaction with a smile and wish them a good rest of their day. On the days I would close our department, I would set up our trolleys and bags to ensure the morning shift had everything they needed. I would clean the fridges and hot containers of loose food, and then lock the doors and sign off on the closing sheet. Another aspect of the job was answering phone calls from customers who had questions, order changes, complaints, or issues with missing items. On a few occasions we had customers enter our work area with questions and I would help them all while maintaining our delivery time. Multitasking was very important in order to maintain a stress-free environment for everyone.
