I was hired as an inside sales agent for The Credit Team in November, 2005. We made outbound calls to sell/enroll clients in our credit repair services provided by Lexington Law Firm. A few months into my new career, TCT merged with Progrexion marketing. Thereafter, I was employed with Progrexion for the next 17 plus years. During my time on the phones, I proudly enrolled over 20,000 clients .
I was promoted to our Inbound (elite) team within the first year of employment. I continued to qualify for my spot on that elite team throughout my years as a sales agent. In order to qualify, I was held accountable to specific KPI goals. Such as conversion, compliance, adherence to specific services offered, pay rate, attendance and cph.
About a year and a half into my career, I was offered the job of a weekend manager for the entire site. I worked 4 -10 hour days, covering both Saturday and Sunday. During those days, I was the only manager on staff/available for the entire shift. I managed all employees day to day work requirements. Along with that, I had the full responsibility of managing our daily KPI goals and expectations. In this sales enviornment, key areas of focus were overall cph, conversion, and compliance.. I continued in that position, managing weekends for several years. Later, going back to the phones full time.
In 2018 I was presented with the offer of getting into management. Taking this offer, required me to make some personal sacrifices. Some of which included adjusting my work schedule, adding many more daily responsibilities and pressures, as well as taking a cut in pay. My kids were grown, and I was at a time in life when I was ready and willing to take more risks in order to expand my career. I had turned down previous offers for promotions due to my home life and this was the perfect time for me to take a risk and make some changes. I started off as a manager in training to learn the basics. Shortly thereafter I was given a team to manage and promoted to a full time sales coach.
Based on my performance throughout my first year as a coach, I ended up ranked as one of the top 10 teams in the organization. This allowed me to qualify for our annual Pace Setter vacation. This was a sales trip that agents and managers could qualify for based on their KPI metrics and rankings over the previous year. During my years as a sales agent, I qualified for every Pace Setter vacation. I was lucky enough to win twice. One year I was able to visit to the Dominican Republic, and my last year in full time sales, we went to Mexico. Qualifying for a sales incentive based on my personal goals was great, but nothing was more thrilling or rewarding than being able to qualify as a coach. This was a true acknowledgement that I had made the move to management at a perfect time. I also felt that i had finally found my true professional calling.
I am highly competitive and motivated. As such, my career was successful for many years. As my first year as a coach came to an end, I was presented with another opportunity for a promotion. This time I was offered the position of senior sales coach. This was a great honor, as the company only had a few of these coveted positions available. With this promotion, I was given a raise in pay and the opportunity to manage a much larger team. Our typical team was 15 agents, where a senior coach had up 25. This required more hours, more time, and most importantly, the ability to multitask, pivot quickly, and prioritize tasks daily.
Although some days were more challenging that others, I was absolutely fulfilled in my position as a manager/coach. I loved the daily challenges and pressures. I loved feeling like my work helped benefit our overall company success and growth. I loved that rewarding sense of accomplishment as I checked off every task scheduled on my daily calendar. However, the most exciting and rewarding part of my career was watching my team members work for and see their own success. There is nothing like watching you're efforts and hard work start resonating with you're employees. Seeing those smiles on their face as they find their own success and start reaching goals they had never dreamed of.
