In collaboration with hospital President and CMO, assisted in the development, planning and implementation of new Surgicalist program to train and oversee new and existing surgical APPs and RNFAs. Responsible for coordination of training and mentorship of providers in all aspects of care of the surgical patient across a variety of specialties in the main OR and OB.

Responsible for circulating and scrubbing a variety of surgical cases in the general operating room. Coordinated nursing care to be carried out according to facility guidelines and regulations.

In collaboration with the surgical oncologist, managed breast, colorectal, melanoma and general surgery patients by providing comprehensive assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and prescribing both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies. Responsible for assisting surgeon in OR, performing minor surgical procedures independently in the office (superficial soft tissue excisions, mediport removal, I&Ds, seroma aspirations), managing high-risk breast clinic, co-chairing multidisciplinary tumor board, educating nursing staff, training new RNFAs and participating in resident education and research.

Responsibilities included primary circulating and occasional scrubbing of orthopedic, vascular, neurosurgical, spine, plastics and general surgery cases as well as coordinating care of the surgical patient throughout the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative process.

Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing cases across multiple specialties, and coordinating care of the surgical patient throughout the perioperative process at a busy Level II trauma center.

Responsibilities included patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, administration and monitoring effects of medications, IV access and therapy, wound care and providing patient education as well as monitoring and providing specialized care to ventilated patients, those with OG/NG/PEG tubes and those on telemetry. Additional responsibilities included maintaining proper infection control standards with all patients, particularly those on contact precautions, and delegation of duties to LPNs, CNAs and PCTs. Preceptor to newly graduated RNs. Charge nurse on the night shift.

Responsibilities included scrubbing surgical cases in the general operating room, as well as training surgical technician students. Surgical specialties include colorectal, orthopedics (including ortho trauma), transplant (kidney/pancreas), urology, gynecology, pediatrics, general surgery, plastics and trauma surgery with advanced abilities in ortho/neuro spine, neurosurgical, vascular and endovascular cases.
