Summary

I was a really good football player, but didn't come from money. I started working for my uncle at 13 with his lawn care company. I took a pay cut, but I wanted a real job. At 15 I went to work at little Caesars. Football season was the only time that I didn't have a job. I worked at 2 different Arby's, Hardees, kfc, Pizza hut and Nick Henry's restaurant. I became a cosmetologist, because they didn't offer barber school at the career center. I did that almost 2 years. Then I joined the Marine Corp. I did two tours in Iraq. I came home and suffered mentally. Luckily God sent me a female Marine and 2 kids. Her, the kids and most of all God are the reason I am still alive. 17 years has past and I take it one day at time.

  • As a Manager at Waffle House it's very demanding. It is literally your store. You manage all the money and bank drops. I had to place all the food and produce order without over or under ordering. I was in charge of keeping food cost down. All of the hiring and firing was on me. Our policy I liked 2 to hire and 3 to fire. You cut the grass, paint the parking lot and did the scheduling. Manager have to cook on first shift. We came back and the end of second shift to do a draw change. As most know it is a 24hr restaurant, so if 3rd shift ran out of something that weren't allowed in the commissary. I had to come back. Always on call. In just a year I was select as top three cleanest and best food cost store and recieved multiple plaques. They always took us out to eat and had us helped educate the other manager on how to improve. I was selected to a future business leader of America banquet suit and tie event in Atlanta. Where all the hire up are given presentation on who you are and what youve accomplished in life that makes you strive for greatness. It was roughly the top 50 Managers in the Company, but a great experience.
