I was accepted to and planned to attend UNC Pembroke after graduation; however, as the time approached, I made the decision to remain at home and attend classes at Pitt Community College. I made this decision based on my personal feelings and what I thought would be most beneficial for me. I decided the best goal for me was not a four-year college education, but rather, I wanted to get a specific education in a field I was interested in while working and ultimately being a valuable employee in my field and be independent and self-sufficient.
As a Senior in high school, I was a member of Link Crew. We assisted Freshman students in guiding them through the high school experience and held several activities and trips to help welcome them to high school. It offered new Freshman students a perspective from a student who has been through the entire high school experience. We assisted and guided Freshman during their first week by answering questions, locating classes, and introducing teachers. During my Junior and Senior year I attended AP English classes, which I enjoyed very much.
I enjoyed playing volleyball from fourth grade through middle school and travel volleyball briefly in high school. I liked being part of a team and supporting and encouraging each other.
