Jessika Dearing

Spring and Summer Semester participant of the Disney College Program. My home locations were Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts as QSR FOH at the Marketplaces. My duties included:

• Deliver information and details of interest about resort(s) and parks to guests, including directions and recommendations.
• Oversee refreshments counter, sell food items to guests, and maintain sufficient stock of products and supplies to meet expected needs.
• Open and Close both locations
• Pick up and deliver supplies to location from backstage.

I was also deployed to work at:

• The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
• Beaches and Cream Soda Shop
• ESPN Wide World of Sports
• Hurricane Hanna’s Poolside Bar & Grill
• Primo Piatto at Disney’s Riviera Resort
• Yacht & Beach merchandise

While I worked at the Markets and Hurricane Hanna’s I was made a relief trainer, and on multiple occasions, I was made coordinator.

I began working at Flavor Season (a family-owned business) in its third week of opening. Within a couple of weeks, I quickly learned all the ropes. I became one of the lead preps after a couple of months and at around month 3 or 4 I became inventory manager.

• Created and updated regular inventory reports.
• Maintained sufficient inventory levels to meet customer demands at all times.
• Trained new staff on job duties, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Answer customer questions and concerns as well as provide recommendations.

I was a member of Pasadena High School's Creative Arts Media & Design Academy (CAMAD) for 3 years. Through the Pasadena Unified School District Internship Program, I was given the opportunity to apply for an internship related to a field I was interested in. I was interviewed for the Armory Center for the Arts and my internship consisted of assisting different classes Monday - Friday. I was a teacher's aide and was responsible for gathering and prepping materials for different classes as well as assisting children ranging from ages 5 to 12 with their projects.
