Work History

Research Associate

Cedars Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center
07.2023 - Current
  • Cedars-Sinai using cutting edge -omics technologies, a wide range of innovative animal cancer models, and organoids to elucidate the biological mechanisms of sex differences in bladder cancer; we recently published several works that pioneer new concepts on sex as a biological variable in cancers
  • Main tasks:
  • Carry out basic molecular techniques, 3D-organoid culture and maintain, and live animal surgery techniques
  • Cultivate cell lines from human and animal tissues, create bacterial stocks, and revive bacteria and cell line as needed
  • Carry out sequencing library preps, Conduct PCR and qRT-PCR assays, perform ELISAs,IF/IHC staining, master additional skills such as flow cytometry, CUT&RUN, FACS sorting, sample preparation for single-cell and single-nuclei sequencing, andadvanced microscopy.
  • lab management and lab supply purchasing.

Project Researcher

USC
01.2022 - 06.2023
  • Young-Kwon Hong Laboratory, Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center at Keck school of Medicine of USC
  • Establishing the CD200 KO through CRISPR-Cas9 and crossbreeding with Prox1-GFP lymphatic-specific fluorescent reporter mouse line
  • Visualization of the lymphatics in tissues and lymph nodes comparing differences of CD200 KO vs
  • WT under fluorescence microscopy
  • Creating ear skin inflammatory mice model of CD200 KO vs WT and figured out CD200 serves as the immune inhibitor in inflammation regulation and CD200 KO mice showed abnormal enlarged lymph nodes
  • Determine immune cells comprise CD200 KO abnormal lymph nodes vs
  • WT mice using cryosection and immunofluorescence staining and imaging under fluorescence microscopy
  • CrossBreeding CD200 KO mice with Kaposi sarcoma (KS) inducible mouse model, showing CD200 KO mice tumor formation is slower than WT Kaposi sarcoma (KS) mice, collected tumor from mice and to do decalcification, cryosection, H&E staining
  • Cell culture and Immunofluorescence staining with CD200 Ab and CD200R1 Ab to confirm CD200 expression in LECs

Project Researcher

Gut Microbiota and Host, Hui Wang Laboratory
08.2019 - 06.2021
  • School of Life Science of Nanjing Agricultural University
  • Verifying human gut microbiota can secrete DING protein through fecal microbiota transplantation into mice and Western Blot
  • Isolating a non-acid-producing fungus with inhibitory effect on the growth of Vibrio cholerae from the soil(S10-1) and identifying the strains was Trichoderma reesei by microscope observation of biological morphology, 18S rRNA sequencing and drawing Phylogenetic tree by NCBI-Blast and MEGA 8.0
  • Exploring the inhibiting molecular mechanism of Vibrio.cholerae by constructing a transposon gene library; through arbitrary PCR, electrophoresis gel running, and gel recycling; comparing sequencing results in Clone Manager obtaining key genes were vprB and dbpA, and determining the regulation mechanism of colonization and the antibacterial effect of the supernatant by genetic knockout and replenishing-strains construction
  • Screening gut fungi having similar inhibitory effect to pathogenic bacteria including Vibrio cholerae, klebsiella.pneumoniae, and Escherichia.coli
