Manage, direct, and coordinate all Access Services operations related to the acquisitions, cataloging, and processing of print and digital materials
Oversee the development and maintenance of the library's collections in all formats by coordinating selection activities, standards, policies, and practices for collection development, monitoring the accuracy of bibliographic records, and preparing and presenting statistical and analytical reports
Collaborate with library administration and senior managers to implement policies and practices regarding the loan of library materials, and manage the interlibrary loan policies and procedures
Oversee the content and standards for the Library Management System (LMS) collection functions (acquisitions, accounting, vendor, order, and materials records for physical collections and e-content, serials, and interlibrary loans), and for content integrations into the discovery layer (research databases, e-content, and calendars), working conjointly with the IT Department to ensure the full functioning of both
Assume primary troubleshooting and ticketing responsibility for the collection functions of the LMS, and for the discovery layer, working closely with the IT department for backup as needed on issues related to web, mobile, security, and hardware
In conjunction with the IT Manager, develop training and instructional opportunities for the LMS and discovery layer tools
Oversee budget planning and preparation related to Access Services functions, communicate and negotiate effectively with vendors, and administer service agreements as necessary
Recommend and evaluate products and services that support the library catalog and borrowing functions, and identify new technologies that enable the library to streamline routines and improve user experience
Provide leadership, direction, and daily supervision to the Access Services department, including establishing departmental and individual goals that support the library’s strategic initiatives, guiding employee performance, communicating expectations, and providing the resources necessary for success
Serve as a member of the library senior management team.
