I created and continue to develop the Mixology Events and Class Program at Straightaway Cocktails. My role include event strategy and development, teaching and training courses, leader and mentorship, designing commerical recipes, development of graphics and instructional materials, financial reporting and oversight over all the point of sales platforms for the program. I work with our Events, Marketing and Sales departments to collaborate and develop community engagement opportunities in-house, as well as with our neighboring local businesses and organizations to expand the programs reach and relationships in the community. Additionally, I work with our PR Firm to act as a spokesperson and public speaker. I frequently join in television segments, as well as local news and media features to share events and business promotions on behalf of Straightaway Cocktails.
During my time at Lompoc, I held multiple roles, including Sales Representative/Brand Ambassador, Event Coordinator, and Assistant Manager. As a Sales Representative, I managed and expanded customer databases, promoted products, and maintained relationships with existing and new accounts. I worked directly with the business proprietor to deepen my knowledge of brewing and fermentation, while also crafting weekly newsletters to share product updates and upcoming events with our partners and clients. In my role as Event Coordinator, I organized tastings and private events, creating engaging, hands-on experiences both at the brewery and off-site. As Assistant Manager, I handled daily reports, bookkeeping, staff training, and guest service.
As the Bar Program Manager, I oversaw staff training and the development of the bar program, including instructional materials, product education, methodology, and implementation. My responsibilities included financial oversight of costing, payroll, inventory management, staff training and supervision, and computer programming. I curated and ordered our rotating beer, wine, and spirits selection, designed craft cocktail menus, and created house-made bitters, tinctures, pickles, and infusions. Additionally, I managed daily reports, ensured efficient bar operations, and maintained a high standard of service.
At World Pulse, I specialized in online media development and journalism advocacy for an international human rights media platform. I edited and curated front-page articles, managed online community databases, organized community initiatives and evaluation projects, coordinated events, and facilitated resources for leadership development, advocacy, and empowerment.
I supported grassroots NGOs in Cambodia with organizational development, project management, evaluation, and report writing. My work included fundraising, event planning, and researching key issues affecting partner organizations. I managed client and funder databases, drafted proposals, coordinated meetings, and organized site visits for ongoing projects.
I taught language, computer, and college prep classes, and coordinated weekly community medical and health clinics. I helped facilitate leadership and empowerment activities in local communities and schools. I also assisted with organizing emergency aid relief for people who were wrongfully and forcibly evicted from their homes.
