In closing, John Dewey's affected the Core Standards of the United States and this includes the classrooms as well. Students and educators benefit from Dewey's philosophy. Almost all historians believe Dewey influenced education the most (Theobald, 2009). Though John Dewey influence can be felt throughout the years, in today's culture and classroom it can barely be noticed. But without him, our education system may not be where it is today.

John Dewey was born in 1859 in the great state of Virginia. He was raised by a family that did a lot in the community in Vermont. Her lived and was impacted by a democratic view. This view effected him as someone who became a educator and effected his philosophy. He believed in people and in democracy and he guided education in a way no one knew was coming. At this point in time in history, John deary's impact was felt everywhere not only as a educator but also as a philosopher.
