I take oil samples and put together parts lists of any issues that arise with the units. I also have a limited ability to troubleshoot the generator AVR systems and the diode. The models I have worked with are the Marathon and Stamfords. I also completed emission testing for the company. My responsibilities include making adjustments to the engine and replacing catalysts to ensure they pass the state emission standards. • Job Duties: I was team member that was responsible for taking a part in doing inframe overhauls my responsibilities ranged from removal and replacement of head piston liner packs replacing and resealing front ends and engine front gear trains replacing water pumps oil pumps running over heads checking bearing clearances on the rods and main bearing systems doing crank thrust testing making sure bolts and fasteners are properly torqued to manufacturer specifications . I also have done inframe overhauls on Ariel reciprocating compressors including doing rod run out testing rolling and inspecting crossheads removing and replacing packings replacing valves checking high pressure lubrication systems and confirm all are in proper working order. Checking the main rod bearing clearance against manufacturer specifications as well as checking compressor balance to ensure maximum efficiency. On all overhauls we performed alignments between the compressor and engines. When a engine or compressor was due for swing it was also the the responsibility of the crew i was on to prep the engine for swing and ensure all third party hands were being safe and had the proper direction to remove and replace whole pieces of equipment. The engines I have experience on are Cat 3500 and 3600 series engines Waukesha 7044,7042,1157, and 3524 engines all CEC or ESM models.
