Associate Director for Classroom Support and Systems

  • Inaugural leader of all public-facing operations of CETS after Feb. 2019 staff reorganization, including all Classroom Support, all service for large group voice amplification and video recording, and all development of service request and scheduling systems, provided by twelve (12) direct and indirect reports. Orienting and training newly-promoted managers of professional staff resulting from reorganization. Implementing new examination and documentation of classroom infrastructure conditions, and submitting all repair/replacement requests to GU Facilities. Managed recruitment for four open front-line staff positions, two temp workers, and dozens of student workers, reviewed payroll for all staff and rewrote position descriptions to align with updated roles. Added GMS (Workday) Recruiter function to previous GMS roles of Financial Reporter, Requisitioner, Timekeeper and Cost Center Manager. Completed replacement of legacy RPX-208 system, and directly supported first classes using IS-Flex and secondary AV systems and furniture on casters.

  • Oversaw all CETS operations during executive director absences and implementation of staff reorganization. Planned elements of that staff reorganization in consultation with superiors. Coordinated the updating of Registrar and CETS records re: classroom infrastructure and installed technology as the first stage of next five-year plan for classroom spending. Coordinated retirement of RPX-208 system in New North GW03, secured funding approvals for technology and general construction, and oversaw installation of replacement Polycom IS-Flex system (May 2019). Continued most functions of Assistant Director position (infra), on top of added responsibilities of this position.
  • Assistant Director (2007-2017)
  • Primary GMS Cost Center Manager, Financial Reporter, and Requisitioner of $1.8 million annual budget for campus technology service provider. Ordered 95+% of all equipment, supplies and professional services in support of classroom technology maintenance and expansion on the GU Main Campus. Conducted monthly, annual and other reconciliation, investigated financial questions, and planned budgets for all department activities. Led and grew CETS Division responsible for all voice amplification, video-teleconference, video recording, conference and special event services, including legacy RPX Telepresence facility and 330-seat and 400-seat auditoria. Established Mobile Audio Services in 2016, leveraging portable technology and student labor to deliver voice amplification and video recording technology to event venues with limited installed infrastructure. Planned and supported infrastructure upgrades and technology installations in over 100 Main Campus classrooms and other spaces at a total cost exceeding $2.5 Million, from conception through financing and contract work, to completion. Supervised 2.5 professional staff and five student assistant staff at any one time; providing training, performance review, professional guidance, and coordination of division personnel scheduling and assignments.
