Jonathan Gibson

The duration of this volunteer opportunity consisted of work within the community along the lines of organizing and informing potential voters about the issues and candidates relevant to the St. Louis Metropolitan and County areas. An average day would consist of two canvasses as I worked a full time job at this time as well. Much of the enjoyment derived from speaking with voters of all political affiliations about the issues and finding common ground in the genuine concerns to see them resolved. Through this opportunity I was introduced further to the skill of coalition building and the importance of knowing your audience. It also gave me a front row seat and actual chance to practice and be involved with a side of politics and law that I have only been privy to via College Textbooks.

• During my time working at Cori Bush's campaign office I gained incredible experience in regards to political processes, networking with individuals, and most importantly being able to impact and touch the lives of my community
• Day to day activities mostly consisted of knocking on doors, canvassing, informing eligible voters about their constitutional right to be heard
• I believe it to be of the utmost importance that we encourage and inform individuals of their significance, and through this work I was privileged with seeing people's choices come to fruition in Cori Bush's re-election
• My final take away from this volunteer work was the importance of reliability and availability, often times being needed at the last minute or weeks ahead, structure and consistency goes further than intensity and passion; organization is fundamental

• During my second period of working at Honey Baked Ham I was responsible for not only front end operations but preparing products for purchase
• This process involved unloading merchandise from truck shipments, preparing merchandise such as the various meats using high pressure torches, packaging our product and presenting it to customers
• A significant accomplishment I can say I played a role in was placing this franchise at the top 2 in the country for sales and number one in our region of the Midwest
• Albeit, these events occurred under a often short staffed team with low availability often leading to me being needed not only at this location but the establishments in Florissant, Belleville, and others

• My current Job requires a considerable amount of flexibility, physical demand and to be level headed as well as alert in order for the best responses to a consistent flow of business
• My main responsibilities include organization and preparation of grocery items for delivery or personal pick up
• I am expected to create an environment and structure that is as simple and easy as possible to locate a customers item(s)
• Other secondary duties when a coworker is not available or overwhelmed is to deliver items to the vehicles of a customer or their third-party driver
• My final obligation when coworkers are not available, overwhelmed or short staffed include shopping for our customers products in a allotted amount of time
• To fulfill and ensure that our shift is completed requires a selfless work ethic despite weather conditions, teammate availability, order flow or cooperation within the department

• My duties while apart of Walmarts Online Grocery Pick Up Department consisted of shopping for customer items, cooperation within a team environment, selfless service in order to fulfill the customers needs and complete objectives
• One valuable skill I believe I gained from this experience was time management and team building

• To represent the Saint Louis Art Works brand and make sculptures in a team environment for buyers and the community
• This position was also meant to teach life skills and professionalism within the workplace
