As a Shift Supervisor at Dixon Correctional Center I was responsible for the daily security operations of the facility and all staff assigned to the security department. Daily responsibilities of this position include; assigned all staff, Correctional Officers, Sergeants and Lieutenants, to their posts for the shift; managed overtime needs; providing staff with guidance and instruction; managed critical incidents and reported the details of those incidents to the appropriate administrative personnel, both verbally and in an official report; addressed offender issues/concerns; addressed employee issues, regarding discipline, use of time and personal conduct.; complete employee performance evaluations. In addition to those responsibilities, numerous other decisions were required throughout the day, utilizing my knowledge of Corrections and proper judgement.
As a Casework Supervisor in a correctional facility I was responsible for supervising counselors in their delivery of counseling services to offenders.
