  • I started here as a catering associate. I would prep orders in bulk and put them together. I would also deliver catering orders ranging from a couple hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. Parties varying from small office parties to huge bbq parties and even weddings. Only when I got within 12 months of working here was when I got the real manager experience. I was directing a crew of prep/ delivery guys , writing up orders to be put together to perfection, setting out the delivery routes, placing orders for stock and bread. This is when I started directing bbqs and weddings, directing a crew of waitstaff and setting up huge parties. In the process I was taught how to drive a tractor trailer driving from one end of the island to another. I also became their deli manager as well and I’m on the verge of becoming the store manager. This is the job that gave the the experience I have been looking for

My responsibility was to overlook the crew and make sure each person is keeping busy whether it’s keeping the shelves stocked, dishes clean, floor cleaned, and slicers and grill clean as well. Food sanitation and customer service were my top priorities as manager.
