Work History

Owner

PRYDE PERFORMANCE GROUP (PPG)
01.2020 - Current
  • I am the current Owner of PRYDE PERFORMANCE GROUP (PPG) where we provide Performance training to student-athletes in our local area. I am also the Head Coach for our 7v7 program. This program allows for our student-athletes to have the ability to transfer what they are training during their performance training, to the field while going against other student-athletes and competing in games and tournaments. Our program has grown in under 2 years starting out with one 1u team to now having multiple teams. I am a Defensive minded coach that believes in allowing our student-athletes the ability to use their skills and talent to match the defense. Consistently our defense ranks top in interception because of this concept. The goal for me is not to just a student-athlete adapt to our defense, but for me to be able to adapt to our student-athlete and bring out this best in their performance. While in this position I also volunteer my experience and time to help our student-athletes and parents with recruiting information, also help with providing exposure not just through our 7v7 program, but taking student-athletes to camps, school visits and ensuring required paperwork is turned in the ensure the student-athlete has every possibility on achieving their goal to play at the next level. I will also go over film with them so they can practice what their assignments are during that week, not just physically, but mentally. If a student-athlete understands the game mentally as well I believe that will make their decisions faster, which will make reactions faster on the field. I am also a Certified Strength and Conditioning specialist through ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association). Having this certification has helped me be able to create a training plan no matter the sport to help our student-athletes reach their goals for their respective sport through performance training. I am a certified Instructor through my position Department of Defense as a Lead Military Working Dog Trainer/Instructor/Evaluator. I have procured working dogs for our government overseas and stateside prior to my position with DoD, for 3 plus years. As a team of 3 we have purchased over 1000+ working dogs for our government. Our job was to read behaviors of working dogs presented by vendors from different locations. We check their temperament, environmental behaviors to ensure they were able to perform under pressure and not be fearful while going through different stressors. We checked their search behavior to ensure they had the ability to locate odors under stressful situations, and the patrol evaluations. This evaluation ensured that we had the right working dog that would bite, or show the potential to be a good patrol dog with training. Doing this job has helped me out tremendously on reading behaviors. When looking at talent for my team, a student-athletes training plan, scouting student-athletes for all-star games, this has sharpened my eyes to see small behaviors to ensure that we make the best decision possible when selecting talent whether it’s on a sports field or a battle field. As a coach you are reading the behaviors of your players and placing them in the right positions to perform for your program, that is something I am good at, and if I have a chance, I can show the value I can bring to a program, even though it’s not a common route. I believe in passion, believe in having a relentless attitude, I also believe in effort. Effort is unmatched and is something that cannot be trained, so when you find an individual like that, you do everything you can do help that individual be successful.
