I determined eligibility for clients (SNAP, TANF and MEDICAID) in a timely manner. I demonstrated empathy and was very sensitive with my clients. I taught the policy and procedures of the programs that the State of Texas offered. I interviewed clients and gained information that was needed to determine their eligibility. Demonstrated patience with my clients when they could not gather the information from their current or former employers. I was a team player in the unit, interviewing my co workers clients in their absence or when they got behind for whatever reason. I received merits raises from all of my supervisors in the time working for Tx Dept Of Health and Human Services. I started out working for the agency as a File Clerk then moved on and was promoted to the Scheduler. i took the worker test and passed it after trying two times ( I am not a quitter) and later on became Asst Supervisor. Finally went to work for the agency at LBJ Hospital and remained a Tx Works Advisor II until I retired December 31, 20117. I retired only due to I was on Dialysis as of March 2014. I hated to go but Dialysis and work was beginning to be a bit much. My working hours was from 8:00 to 5:00 Monday thru Friday and I had to be at Dialysis for 6:00pm. I would stay on the machine for 4 hours. I would get home about 11:00. I practiced gettimg work early whether I was on the bus or driving. The Program Director Ms Dawson commended me several times and hated to see me go, but I had to. I can be and strive to be an access where ever I work.
I kept my office neat and orderly so that I or in my absence my co workers could find client's files and information.
I kept a friendly atmosphere in my office. I developed a good repor with clients, taking care of all their concerns to avoid them going to my Supervisor.
