Responsibilities also include patient education, namely demonstration and rationale for activity and training in the use and dispensing of applicable assistive devices; along with provision of treatment to patients with multiple and at times complicated diagnoses to include neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, oncology and pulmonary. Acquired experience also includes extensive proficiency with postoperative and critical care patients of all facets, same encompassing pediatric, surgical, medical and cardiac intensive care units. Said job description also involves meeting and interacting daily with social workers, case management, doctors and nurses with significant input into identifying needs for post patient care, implementation and follow up of identified needs and overall discharge planning. Prior exposure and proficiency in the skill of efficiently auditing for inaccuracies also present due to career experience prior to becoming a physical therapist.
