Work History

Certified Medical Assistant

MultiCare Health System
Puyallup, WA
08.2023 - Current
  • I am currently a certified medical assistant working in a colon and rectal out-patient clinic. I am a part of the preceptor network and help train new Multicare employees. I room patients, review medical history, collect vital signs and I am also trained to assist with in-office procedures. I am responsible for ensuring that patient messages, either in MyChart or on the phone, are answered within appropriate time frames. I chart prep for the providers to ensure that patients are appropriately scheduled, and that the provider has all necessary information for the patient’s office visit, including colonoscopy reports, any imaging reports and chart notes from other medical providers the patient may have seen. I am the back-up to our PSL (Patient Safety Lead) and will cover lead duties while she is away, this includes but is not limited to doing clinic ordering, tracers and proctoring new employees.

Certified Medical Assistant Lead

Proliance Surgeons
Puyallup, WA
08.2017 - 07.2023
  • I was the clinic lead for Proliance Puyallup Surgery and oversaw a team of around 10 staff members. I ordered all supplies for our clinic, stocked the exam rooms and made sure things ran smoothly. I was the main point of contact when questions or issues would arise and was able to resolve any problem in a timely manner. I would conduct interviews with potential team members and bring individuals in for interviews. I attended management meetings and would contribute knowledge to new processes and any problem solving. I worked under a surgical oncologist whose focus was breast cancer and melanoma. I collected vital signs, roomed patients, collected medical history and input information into the EPIC EMR system. I would do research for each patient regarding medical history, family history of cancer and track down pathology reports and imaging reports. I would assist with in-office procedures including placement of SAVI radiation catheters, debridement of wounds, wound packing, drain removal and stitch or staple placements and removals. I would triage phone calls daily, coordinate with the surgeons in the office and reply in a timely manner. I oversaw the training and onboarding of new employees in the clinic and helped acclimate them. I helped organize and implement a breast program for cancer patients to have easier access to prosthetic devices after surgery and treatment, including but not limited to building the billing process, scheduling process and inventory ordering.
