  • Focused on molecular side of processing diagnostic samples for mostly poultry and some swine bacteria, viruses and parasites
  • Performed PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, intergenic sequence ribotyping (ISR) region to assign serotypes to Salmonella enterica isolates.
  • Researched and Implemented quantitative PCR from a publication for five Eimeria species to replace OPG method with qPCR for outbreak surveilance on the field.
  • Assisted with animal trials including vaccine preparation, administration, necropsy, sampling, and virus recovery
  • Prepared reports for customers, manager, and communicated with internal and external collaborators.

R&D Technician I, II

Ceva Biomune
Lenexa, KS
03.2012 - 10.2016
  • Started as Technician I in the Bacteriology lab developing Salmonella inactivated vaccines
  • Prepared challenge material, experimental vaccine formulations, performed CFU titrations, potency ELISA, Western Blot, and Serology
  • Participated in clinical trials at first and was assigned to lead efficacy trials in my second year in the lab
  • Later on transferred to Virology lab working with tissue culture and virus propagation
  • Prepared primary cells from chicken embryos, and performed virus titration using embryos and cell lines
  • Developed virus neutralization and titration assay for reovirus and transferred the method to QC department
  • Conducted several pivotal efficacy trials that led to licensing of Cevac IBron and Salmune TEK vaccines.
