April 2023 to Present

Family Financial Advocate. I secure resources for families to minimize or eliminate their out-of-pocket expense for medical bills. I assist the families with applying for Medicaid, financial assistance, grants, charity care fund and CMH. I interact with families in person and over the phone. When we have a family that is in patient without insurance, I would go to the patient’s room an offer resources provide coverage for medical expenses.

January 2012 to April 2023

I billed claims to CMH Children with Medical Handicaps. I was the professional biller all claims were on 1500 claim forms. I cleaned up the claim edits and mailed the claims to CMH with explanation of benefits attached. I worked the follow up work que to assure payments. I also worked the denial work que sending medical records if needed to support the claim. I answered question from the divisions and customer service representatives.

May 2009 - January 2012

Customer Service Representative answering incoming calls form families and insurance companies. I processed payments to the account, explained how their insurance processed the claims. I have a clear understanding of explanation of benefits. Fulfilled itemized statement request. I set up payment arrangements. I mailed financial assistance applications to those that qualify.
